(Article by Sharktooth898) In an announcement on the Discord yesterday, Hellespont announced many things, the most anticipating one being most likely a new map, which will allegedly drop some time in the next few weeks. According to higher ups, this map will be 3x the size of the current map. Playtests have already taken place, and many are excited for it. Also in the announcement, Hellespont said updates will be visible in the actual game now, instead of having to go to the Discord to see logs. Nation ranks will be restructured with nation leaders being given "new tools". In the announcement, Spont clarified that the game has in been slow development for a while now due to burnout and the development team being entirely volunteer. Also, the most heart-shattering part of this announcement, Moocisbrine was removed. In unrelated news, rank changes on the 18th include: homeguard (contributor-traineemod), rowboat85 (seniormod-admin), GrenadierMiles (mod-admin), and RandomGuy (donator-nationleader).
(Article by Sharktooth898) On July 13, Kaeq, a 2021 veteran and long time senior administrator, stepped down from his positon citing retirement. Over the next few days, Matthew_lab4, Yarman, Mr.TrafficCone, and rowboat85 were all promoted to Senior Moderator status. On the night of July 17, 2025, Head Moderator Nasir released his retirement video and signed off. Nasir is expected to persue content creation. Within the hour, Trainee Moderator Nihilis also stepped down. This has been a very eventful week for role changes.
(Article by Sharktooth898) The first installment of The Gnome premiered on July 10 to critical acclaim, being the debut movie of Gian, an up-and-coming director in the WAH movie scene. Many people have described the movie as "peak", with even Hellespont saying "you've been gnomed". According to cast members, a second movie is planned on being released later this weekend. Director Gian said to WAHOF,"I'm really happy on how this movie turned out, and be aware of way more films to come in the future, especially epsiode 2!". Episode two premiered unexpectedly several hours later, at around 7 PM CST on the 10th, also to amazing reception and double the run time.
